FU: FU: Paging any forum Optometrists, Opticians or those experienced with fitting progressive lenses
#19
RAMd®d: Thanks for the suggestions. The "swim effect" affects me the most when I'm moving, usually when it's a quick movement, so, I've tried to be slow and purposeful in movements and that does help, but I don't have a lot of patience for that kind of thing and I also tend to forget to do it. Once the dizziness and and particularly the nauseousness hits I have to take them off and allow things to settle back down. Even reading a paperback is frustrating as I have to move my head back and forth to read as moving my eyes back and forth doesn't work because of the distortion and unfocused areas. Since I have to move my head the lines of type seem to move and undulate which makes reading irritating. Those are just two of the issue I'm facing with these progressives.

rgG: I'm unsure of bifocals for two reasons, one, I think the line will bother me and two, I only get two corrections (unless I get trifocals) and I'm not sure that would adequately cover the range of vision that I'd like to have covered. I also understand that "image jump" with multifocals can be hard to live with. Thanks, I'll take all the good luck I can get.

Robert M: I don't know for a fact that their solution is unacceptable, but, I do know that I've lost my patience for "trying to adapt" and I'm not sure how much more of it I can go through. They haven't been very good at explaining any of this to me and I've been unprepared for the results, plus, based on how all this has been handled so far has left me with little confidence that this new pair of lenses are correct or that they can sufficiently correct my vision by other means.

Speedy: Realistically who could put up with this kind of "torture" for months to get used to them?

Black: I don't have my prescription and if I understand it correctly you need to get the pupil height while wearing the frames to determine the segment height so how could I do that with Zenni?

jesse: From what I've read on the net these new non-digital lenses are cheaper and not as good as the digital pair that I originally had and they did not offer me any kind of refund, so, I doubt they'll do it with bifocals or single vision lenses either.
