Arguably the first production 4WD Sports Car.
Not really a sports car but a true Grand Touring car, the Interceptor was dubbed the Gentleman's Express.
I rarely drove my Interceptor at high speed but I happily remember when keeping to the speed limit along a restricted road I had a modern (at the time) 7 Series BMW pestering me for a couple of miles. We came to a dual carriageway and a derestricted area and he went to overtake so I put the pedal down now it was legal to do so. The old girl picked up her skirts and flew, left the Beemer standing. All from a lazy 7.2 litres and a 3 speed auto box and with no complaints or particularly loud noise. 330 bhp was quite good for those days and it was delivered in style.
