There's big difference between evolution and exploitation.
The recent "Trek" movies have been pure exploitation. Nothing but money grabs trading on the brand.

I would consider the last two films to be Trek in name only. Using the same characters and rewriting the history does not make it real Trek. In fact, the last film seemed to just use (steal?) a lot of one-liners ripped from (as I said before) what was arguably the best film in the series, and in certain ways was even insulting in its rewriting of the original story -- examples: Khan making weapons for Starfleet? And Kirk dying rather than Spock, then getting resurrected by Khan's blood after being injected into a tribble??? WTF! This whole thing stunk like a steaming pile... :facepalm:
