It was because of his frustration with magnets that Eric Von Zipper went on to invent Velcro, named after his Bike.
He tried a few other options first:
Actually, I just finished up a project on the boat- the rewiring. A lot of the original wiring went everywhichwhere, especially the interior lighting.
I got several terminal strips, (8X2, $1 each from The Blue Pelican.) Normally, these are supposed to be screwed down, but on general principles, I put no more holes in boats than absolutely necessary, and the Teak looks great as is.
The local Ace Hardware sells I" Velcro: $2 a foot. They have several colors, so I bought three feet each of black and clear.
The terminal strips are also 1" wide, so the Velcro is invisible. The neat thing is, when I find my mistakes, it's easy to change the wiring, or even relocate entire terminal strips, leaving no holes or sticky stuff behind.
So I suggest that whatever container you decide on, Velcro it in place.
