OS X Yosemite: Apple's biggest Mac redesign in years
#3
As in iOS, Yosemite seems to be moving toward reduced contrast in visual elements.

This makes things harder to read for older eyes. I hope Apple realizes this and provides the ability to increase contrast.

The flattening of icons and adding of transparency reduces the number and intensity of visual cues we have to decipher an image. Again, this is hard on us older folks.

I have complained many times that Apple seems to be designed by young people using large monitors under perfect lighting.

They need to get out in the field, in realistic conditions, lousy lighting, small monitors -- and they need some design consultants who don't see or hear perfectly.

My tuppence.
