I've used them, but I'm a lawyer....
My advice, slightly modified.
Use them as a template, write up what you want, and then have a lawyer take a look at it--that should reduce the costs. If you're really hard up, get a law student to look at it.
It's always best to get templates that are specfici to your state, if possible. Not always necessary or possible, but useful when available.
