TD and Buy.com were (and I guess still are) second tier options. I don't know if Rakuten has made the latter any better. There was always some uneasieness surrounding ordering from them, as well as their lack of urgency in fulfilling orders.

Cyberian Outpost/Outpost.com kinda lives on a very outdated Frys.com site.
Apparently dropped in 2012, along with CircuitCity, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CompUSA

As far as buy.com, never had a problem with them, but think I only used them when they sold through Amazon. Not fulfilled by Amazon, just another store on the market. Never had a problem, but the main processing of the order still ran through your Amazon account. So there was a level of obfuscation from the direct Buy.com experience.
