I finally got it through my head that I was going to the movies for enjoyment - it isn't meant to be a visual college course.
So I just enjoy the two hours and don't particularly worry about accuracy or completeness (you can't fit a lifetime into two hours). That said I do have issues with most films based on historical events - I just know too much about the subject to ignore stupidity. So some films are a no go from the start, and others are just plain horrendous (Pearl Harbor, Inglorious Bastards, and Redtails come immediately to mind)
