So totally agree with this...
Also, Claudia's character "setup" could have led into an OUTSTANDING character... but again, as ztirffritz says, they just didn't know what to do with her - and the opportunity was wasted.
Honestly, one of the best characters WAS H.G. (Jamie Murray).
