What's the deal with 10:09:30 on the almost all the watch views?
Apple standard for events like this, where the product reveal occurs at about that time on purpose. Interesting story about this on the webs, a Jobs anal-retentive touch that persists.
i read many years ago that watch ads usually show a watch's time as around the hour 10 as people tend to have a positive vibe for that time whether is 10am or 10pm. not too early, not too late.
10:10 is industry "standard". 10:09:30 is used when you want to show off a second hand.
It is done that way because you don't want to cover up the 3 6 9 12, and evenly spaced is more visually pleasing. At that point it's either 10:10 or 8:20, and the problem with 8:20 is that appears like it's pointing down. Also at the 20 minute mark the hour hand is well enough off the 8 that it starts to be asymmetrical again.
I used to shoot high end timepieces and jewelry for a chain of jewelry stores.
