Never considered that soldered RAM would be more reliable but it's something worth considering.
I only see this serving Apple, not its providers (us) or customers.
Given that as a consumer I've probably never experienced faulty RAM, I agree. And for those who have, I'm betting that a blown port or something more mundane is just as likely to make you pay for a new logic board+RAM under this new paradigm.
