The CW here on the 2012 Minis was that the graphics were "crippled."
Now they're a "snatch it while you can?
?? Minis use Intel graphics, which has always been inferior to discrete graphics.
We love our minis, but we use them as servers 99% of the time.
Unless I'm mistaken that's not what he meant. The current 5000 graphics are generally considered fine for everything but heavy lifting, the 4000 graphics a bit less so, and now the 4000 is yet another year older.
It's the same situation with a 2012 13" MBP. You can love the ability to buy RAM and HD for them, but in the end the thing is using old graphics and that will determine usability that can't be upgraded.
For non-server use, a "typical" family editing snapshots and simple videos, the new base model mini is the best mini unless you've got one with optional graphics ("Iris" or whatever).
