My daughter needs a pc to run .exe files for a spanish class study cd. Not sure I want the expense and hassle of getting a macbook/ bootcamp/XP

I have been looking at inexpensive pc laptops. Toshiba, hp, lenovo 3000.

Toshiba satellite with a duo core
1.6GHZ
512ram
80gig

for $599.

What do you think, Get what you pay for junk?

Ok, for school work basic needs?
