New iPods - or just get an old 5?

Aren't the iPhone 5 prone to home button failure? You could probably get one for $150-$225ish, but the new iPod touch is pretty decent. Then again, the Fire Phone people like to mock is cheaper, about as fast, and includes a year of Prime. I'd probably go that route versus iPod touch, but it's a toss up.
