Interesting
if you look at Customer Q&A on NewEgg, it seems some people got full resolution with Mini DisplayPort.:
Daniel A:HDMI will only support a resolution up to 1920x1080. To get the maximum resolution you will need to purchase a Mini-DisplayPort to DisplayPort Cable. You will then have to select the DisplayPort input via the control panel. There is a reset in the control panel, accessed by hitting the left button > middle button > scroll down to the wrench > move over to the right menu and down to reset. This resets the monitor back to its factory defaults. Dec 05,2014
Ashley N:I personally use a miniDisplay port to display port cable & it works great, with full resolution! I thought this was a great monitor for the value. I use it on a late 2011 Mac mini & a late 2013 MacBook pro Retina. Recently I plugged in a Amazon Fire stick (which was ok) into one of the HDMI ports, which looked good but the built in speakers weren't great. Good luck! Dec 05,2014
David Z:I use the displayport connection with my Mac and get the full 2560x1440. Dec 05,2014
