I can't imagine that working. I had a client that asked if he could convert VGA on his laptop to composite or component video for his HDTV (that he bought partly to connect his laptop and I told him the cheap Plasma without VGA wasn't going to work, but I digress) with a simple adapter. I kept telling my client no because his machine did not have the built in support for such analog connections. As such, he needed an active converter, not just a simple cable adapter. The Best Buy people kept saying it would work, but of course it didn't, but that's another story.
I think the same thing applies here.
