How much can an old Mac Pro weigh, 40lbs? I could shake that. Anyway, I would think if you popped it open and pulled the drive, the disk would be stuck inside the drive assembly and you could bang that around or try to exact the disk that way. I would buy a new optical drive only if you need and use an optical drive.
