I have had a few and they're all fine. The waffles are better if toasted after they are made, in my opinion, but I like 'em crispy. I make latkes and falafel and other stuff in there too. For normal waffles, I make big batches and freeze... Usually semi-healthy like pumpkin pecan, banana walnut, or cherry almond, and the flour is whole grain and oats. I add protein powder, too. Those are on the road work breakfasts many days.
I don't use spray oil on my non stick devices... I use a silicone brush with melted butter or oil. I think food comes out better and there's no weird residue.
