Dead celebrity? Whither Jon Snow? Game Of Thrones starts again Sunday

OK, so I've never watched the show, after reading the books that are out, and waiting years for the next volume that we will probably never get from George RR Martin. I understand this is forcing the show to move into territory the books haven't covered.

Here's my theory.

1. The dragons are the only thing that will protect everyone when "winter comes" and the Others cross the wall.

2. There are three dragons. The dragons need to be controlled by a Targaryen. We know of two of them (Daenerys and Viserys). Jon Snow is the third.

3. Jon Snow is not Ned Stark's son, but that of his sister Lyanna, who was raped by Rhaegar Targaryen. The promise Lyanna extracts from Ned as she dies is for him to hide Jon Snow's origin to protect Snow from the Lannisters.

4. Therefore Jon Snow must be revived. This will happen the same way that Catelyn Stark was revived (indirectly, by Thoros of Myr resurrecting Beric Dondarrion, who then passed on the "spark" to Catelyn Stark to revive her), with Melisandre doing it.

My son tells me I'm not alone in having come up with this scenario, but I did do it on my own.

Well, that saves me the ordeal of watching it. I will catch the abridged version:
