I only really watched DS9 in the past few years, despite being a Trek fan. I watched the first couple of seasons off and on when it originally aired and couldn't get into it. A good friend and my son convinced me to do a full-series watch, so we did (via Netflix) starting about two years ago.
The Ferengi, whom I really disliked from TNG, became my favorites. The ones that focus on Quark, Nog, or Rom are my re-watch episodes. And "The Magnificent Ferengi" is probably the best of the group.
Bonus: any episode that features Brunt bursting in, announcing himself: "Brunt - F.C.I." (Brunt is played by Jeffrey Combs, who's played a number of characters, human and non-human, on various Trek outings. There was a joke rolling around the Star Trek subreddit some time back that, in the upcoming STAR TREK DISCOVERY series, he would play every character.)
And as freeradical points out, Iggy Pop is in it, and delivers some great dialog.
