Winter is still going strong here, best skiing in several years, but avalanche danger has been pretty high. Stuff is sliding that rarely goes:
' East Gros Ventre Butte slid around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, burying Spring Gulch Road in about 8 feet of snow.
The roadway was blocked for about an hour while authorities cleared the snow, according to Teton County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Slade Ross.
Another slide released naturally and covered Highway 89 just north of town around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.
“That area has been identified as a slide area but it’s been quite some time since it actually slid,” Wyoming Highway Patrol Lt. Matt Brackin said.
Between 12 and 15 feet of snow buried the highway just north of the Trumpeter Swan Townhomes, completely blocking the road and causing a six-hour cleanup '
