I went from a 27" Thunderbolt Display to a LG 27UD88 W 4k and here's what I've noticed:
- The LG is brighter
- The LG is much more crisp on everything from text to the rounded corners of buttons
- It's so nice to have a matte screen again
I have them set to the same resolution. I can up the resolution, but I don't really want things smaller.
At home I have a pair of 24" Dells. At some point I'll buy a 4k display and keep using the Dells, but the 4k will be my main screen. The LG can be found for $600-700. If a comparable Dell 27" 2560 x 1440 is $500, I'd gladly spend the extra to go 4k.
