I was wondering the same thing but it can't be those because of that hill to the north. It looks a little like Palos Verdes but probably not.
The profile of that hill does indeed look like the Peninsula (source: am a resident of the Hill). I don't know whether there are any beaches in Long Beach that look like the one in the photo and that would provide that view of the Hill, though, and I'm pretty sure it's too close to be Huntington... not to mention that TI and the Queen Mary would likely be visible in the photo if it were taken at either one of those beaches.
