A month ago I was trying to cut the cable and found Youtube TV to be good (local networks and mainstream stuff) but it was missing some of the things I like to watch. Then I saw Philo. So, we do both. We got into Youtube TV before the increase to $40 (we're paying $35) and we also subscribe to Philo for $16. I set up an online TV Guide thing that integrates the 2 services so I can see what's coming up and set up recordings on my computer rather than from the tv. We're saving about $45 per month. I bought several cheap Roku's but have just ordered the $100 one for the basement since the wireless (even with a new router) is marginal down there. I already have an ethernet cable there so I can just plug in the high-end Roku when it comes.
