Elderly Colorado man found alive 3 days after car crashed into river by Grandson in Kayak

"A man reported missing Monday evening on the Western Slope was found Wednesday by his grandson, who was in a kayak on the San Miguel River as part of a search team. The 82-year-old had been lying along a bank on the river."

"The car, in leaving the road, had gone through brush and growth along the roadside, hiding the vehicle from teams that had been searching for McLeroy, the sheriff’s office said."

"Ethan Archer, McLeroy’s grandson, searched the river by kayak as his father, Ivan, followed the kayak in a vehicle on the highway. Archer spotted McLeroy and alerted his father, who then alerted authorities."
