It's still stuck searching. I reset and did numerous reactivations on my own. No dice. I called support. I got one woman who sounded like an angry 15 year old girl, who audibly yawned as I explained my problem. I called back and got a nicer rep. They told me it is a reception issue - it isn't of course. All other Verizon phones work well at home and have for years.They're sending me a free network extender (a $250 value - like I was supposed to be impressed!) to boost signal. it'll be here Thursday. When it doesn't work I'll call them back. Very frustrated. They wouldn't have called me, I had to call them and pull teeth.
On the plus side when I complained about the bill they comped me $20, so there's that.
