I'm a little dubious the iPad is actually that fast for continuous transfers. It's kind of hard to properly test since there isn't a real user accessible file system on it.
Back in 2014 my HTC One M8 Android phone used to get a connection of "440 Mbps" with my AC1900 access point. My year old LG V20 currently shows a "468 Mbps" connection but I doubt the 128 GB storage card in it can accept data that fast.
