Obviously, I don't know beekeeping, but why not a 1-3 foot wand on the end of that hose? Just sayin'.

Not so much for safety's sake as he's obviously comfortable with them, but for a little more reach. Maybe that's never been an issue before.
I'm curious about a lot of this. What about the bees that didn't get vacuumed? Will they have to find another hive? Will they seek out their hive? Where did they come from? Will somebody show up and say 'Those are MY bees!'? Are they free range bees? Is Mays a cop with the NYPD, or a non-sworn employee?
