My goodness...you have undertaken quite a service! Thank you so much for what you have done for so many! This only makes it even harder to fathom that a few here have taken advantage of your generosity. Do you refurbish non-working machines then turn them around or are all of those donated to you in working order to begin with?
We get them in various ways, from businesses and institutions.
90% of them need work, from simply installing operating systems to complete re-furbing and / or installing hardware. One of our frequent jobs in to transplant laptop screens from parts machines.
As I type this I have two MacBook pros getting OS-es installed. I have insomnia and do a lot of them when I can't sleep.
Last year, after we had received a shipment I made an appointment at our 'local' (150 miles away) Apple Store for 56 MacBook Pros which were covered under one of their repair programs. I was the hit of the day when I showed up with them! They assigned two geniuses to me and we did them production line style. Later I received a nice letter from Tim Cook.
