Since I retired 2 weeks ago we bought kayaks for the local reservoir. We are using muscles we didn't know we have! Also we went on a bike ride and my wife's Trek wasn't shifting correctly so we took went to the local Trek store and they pointed out several broken parts on the 25 year old bikes and suggested that we just live with them since the repair costs would be prohibitive. Instead we bought new Trek Verve 2's. Wow--they are so much nicer than the old mountain bikes. And my wife loves the step-through frame on hers. So, we're walking 18 holes almost every day and on days we don't golf we kayak in the very early am and then go for a ride in the late morning. I expect we'll slow down on the kayaking and biking after the newness wears off but so far we're very busy. And losing a few pounds. So far, I've lost 30 lbs and my wife 20 pounds since January. We each have another 10 to go!
