my local walmarts are in minority dominant neighborhoods. for the past week i've found myself scanning the surroundings as i go in looking for any white person who normally wouldn't be there. made me sad to realize i was doing that. and at the same time i realized that if any of the black men going in and out, and even this senior citizen dreadlocked black woman, had walked into a walmart with body armor and an AK 47 like that kid in Missouri - well they'd, i'd, be dead in very short order.
