Streaming is streaming. CDs are physical media. In that way, they are very different.
This. Also, I'm one of those that embraces technology. With turntables, you had to do your homework when you shopped for one. Rumble, wow-and-flutter, what the needle is made from; the list goes on. And the better the specs, the more money you spent. Then, to avoid the scratches and pops, you tried to keep the vinyl clean, holding the disc by the edges, and buying the cleaner. Don't forget stacking them upright out of the sun too.
After all that, you still only got about 45 minutes of music on a disc that had to flipped over to get the 45 minutes...
I'm glad there's market for vinyl now but I just can't see ever wanting to go back to it. I can store more CDs in the space I need for vinyl and need no physical space at all for streaming!
I think the only good thing about albums are that you can see the artwork better on a 12" cover as opposed to a 4" CD. But, hey, I can go online to see a larger image of the CD!
