.. my turn.. I learned to be kind of fearless as a child.
Heights ? You could find me at the top of the tallest tree in the forest, laughing like a loon. Or scrambling up the gnarliest cliff.
Bugs ? Mom was full on organic. No sprays in OUR house. Spider bro was my friend and kept the cockroaches off my body at night. He did annoy me by waking me up walking across my eyeball, but I just closed my eye until he moved long.
Snakes ? Hell. I had a friendly baby rattlesnake when I was about 3. He lived in the back yard and I would bring him bugs to eat until Dad said he 'moved'.
Closed spaces ? I would go into caves and abandoned mines with Dad on his geological adventures. Turn off the lights ? Awesome, it sharpens your other senses.
Flying ? Woo hoo ! Wasn't allowed to go for my sailplane license because money, but I cadged a few rides.
Deep water ? Waves ? Loved 'em. Swam more underwater than I did above the water once I got goggles. As an asthmatic in the before Albuterol era, I have HUGE lung capacity.
About the only thing that actually gets my pulse racing these days is walking on ice. I have no desire to go through that terrible accident again. I don't remember falling, but I sure as hell remember the ambulance ride, the intubation, defibrillation, seizures, and everything going black.
