I've been married for more than 50 years.
My wife still thinks I like tools - I don't. If I liked tools that creaky door she complains about would have been either fixed or pulped long ago. Turns out we brought in a guy who replaced it and it eventually got sent to door heaven, pulped or recycled to a home with a wife who thinks that door ought to be fixed - we don't really know where it went, we only know it allowed her to focus on the sag in the creaky floor that I don't care in the least about.
Thing is: if I fix that sag in the floor there are stairs, an attic and basement to follow so I think I'll leave all that to the next guy up. One of the perks of growing old is leaving the undone stuff for another day.
