I shrugged my shoulders a bit when I read your post because I have a couple of apps that are pretty good at this (Scanner Pro and Genius Scan), but I rarely use them. Both do a great job on the scan, but whether they are saving to Files or syncing with Dropbox, something is lacking when it comes to user friendliness and integration. Saving something directly to Notes seems even easier.
It remains to be seen how much I'll use it, but I just scanned a document off my desk in nearly complete darkness, and it's immediately in Notes on my Mac.
