It's definitely intended for use desktop use, although OWC does offer a travel version with far fewer ports. Dimensions are:
Height: 2.8 cm (1.1 in)
Length: 9.0 cm (3.5 in)
Width: 20.0 cm (7.9 in)]

Maybe bigger photos on this (other?) OWC website.
