Another option is to buy the drive from OWC but it's pricey. I have a Aura Pro X2 1TB in my 2015 MBPr 13". I feel like it runs hot in comparison to the original SSD. If I were to upgrade this machine today, I'd probably go the NVME M.2 plus Sintech adapter or sled route. Enough members of the forum have gone this route with success that I'm willing to give it a shot now. The cost for the drive and the adapter will be significantly less than the price of the OWC options, which is an added bonus.
