Full Frame Mirror-less: Canon gets more serious with 2 models, Nikon gets more affordable
#9
I anticipate that Canon is going to take the Sony threat head on from this point on out. Their advantage is the ability to move quickly and manufacture news mirror-less lens designs. Then they can leverage adapter to the EF lens range as an appeal to current Canon owners. As lovely as Sony’s cameras are, adapted lenses usually don’t allow full functionality. This is very apparent with the A9 and A9 II. You cannot get the full frame rate unless you have certain G Master lenses. That means not all Sony lenses can be used to full capability on the A9 series. I am not seeing this about any of the Canon R series cameras yet. I will update if I see differently.
