That assumes there will be any pieces left to pick up. The way things are trending a blue wave could well destroy what is left of the Republican Party. That sort of outcome would send party long game schemers and planners into a reorganization that would come out in a way that would eliminate the cancel politics they now live with.
They always have money and their driven intent to make the public purse private will insure they won't fade away. If they have to sit through a Dem administration or two - so what, they've done that before. The Nixon debacle should have kneecapped them as a political party - it didn't. This Trump debacle won't either.
This all assumes we'll even have a country left to fight over, at this point that's not a given.
