I think the list Lemon posted is the list that requires focus. For several years Cotton and Hawley have been touted as Trump-like, but with less drama. They have the same crazy, but packaged in a less narcissistic wrapper. They are both well educated, both come from states that are MAGA, and have both taken steps to make the donor class happy.
I think they are more frightening than Trump because this packaging obscures the crazy for lower information types.
Haley is the choice of the more mainstream GOP-can't-quit-Trump-and-she-will-bring-the-women-back types. These folks hope for a post Trump GOP renewal, but are so strongly on the team they will vote for Trump. (David Frum, another GOP apostate, uses the following phrase on his Twitter: "When this is all over, nobody will admit to ever having supported it.") Haley will be one of those.
That's certainly a frightening prospect.
Regardless of her prospects, Haley has played it brilliantly. She supported Trump enough to be considered a GOP team player, but separated herself from some of his more egregious behavior. And quit on her own terms, before he got mad and fired her. She has one of those compelling life stories that draw voters in. Dems beware if Haley gets on the top ticket.
