NEW cordless tools are MUCH better than what cordless tools started out as. Do yourself a favor up front. DON'T get just a cordless screwdriver. Get a quality Hammer~Drill~Driver. When my old DeWalt NiCad batteries gave up the ghost, I decided to treat myself to Milwaukee M-18 LiIon tools. That was well over five years ago and, ALL the Milwaukee tools AND batteries are still going strong. Home Depot is currently running a bunch of specials on Milwaukee packages. I know you can get the M-18 tools and I'm pretty sure at least some of the M-12 tool and or kits are on sale as well. Dewalt is still a good name and, I expect you'll find Presidents' Day sales on DeWalt (as well as other quality names like Bosch, Makita, Ryobi etc). One of the beauties of using a cordless tool system is that batteries and chargers can be used across the line of tools. I know some forumites are Harbor Freight fans but, I take care of my tools and, they take care of me so, I don't mind spending extra because I know the quality lasts.
