We have a friend whose mother works for Walgreens. They are now tossing or returning unused, expired vials of vaccine because people are not showing up for appointments. She is very frustrated by how inconsiderate too many people are because the days of shortages and high demand are still very fresh in her mind. She knows that there are still places and people who need the vaccine. The two counties adjacent to mine are the two lowest percentage counties for vaccinations of the 81 counties in Minnesota. Needless to say, this is a red congressional district with plenty of gullible fools.
With stuff like this going on, I am seriously considering if there's any way I can get doubly vaccinated (I've already gotten the J&J, wondering if I could also get the Pfizer or Moderna) ... in my case, it might make sense to do so, but I'm sure insurance wouldn't cover it. On the other hand, if they're just throwing vaccine away, it would be stupid to not take advantage of it.
The people who refuse to get vaccinated are truly deluded and I'm afraid that all the rest of us will be paying for their idiocy, sooner or later.
State sponsored site. Make an appointment. No insurance card needed. I gave nothing other than my name when I had mine done at the county health department site.
That was my experience also although I volunteered my Medicare number because there was a line for it. There was also a line for health insurance info which I left blank as did my wife who has no Medicare number. All they were interested in was pushing us through - vaccines in arms.
