My father-in-law is a conservative. He eats off plastic plates and drinks from plastic bottles, all of which go straight into the garbage. If the consequences don’t affect him directly, why should he bother recycling or being socially responsible? His motto is “screw unto others before they screw unto you.” He was a proud supporter of our last president.
I get that, habits become lifestyle choices. I did though last live in a suburban neighborhood where pulling the recycling bin out to the curb happened each Tuesday no matter how you voted.
