why no surge in Texas?

I think it's a lot more complex than folks here who just see a red state and automatically predict how bad a possible outbreak will be because of X


I think saying that people see it as a red state is oversimplifying why they might expect a surge by now.

Things like a sold out rodeo, a huge biker convention, spring break celebrations, baseball games, etc., are the sources of concern.

That they are allowed by the respective states' governments is another, but related, matter.

I don't want to see surges, as that means people's welfare is now in danger, as opposed to potentially endangered.

Not sure I expressed that clearly enough, but close enough.

I do suspect that a lot of people want to see evidence of a surge to say 'I told you so' to the I Told You So party.
