I thought threads are open to any comments. Am I mistaken?
1) The celebrations take place all over the country. Mt Meron is the focus of the Ultra-Orthodox.
2) Government repeatedly ignored official reports that tomb of 2nd century sage, where ultra-Orthodox Jews gather for annual Lag BaOmer festivities, had long been neglected and structures built around it were safety risk (starting in 2008) https://www.timesofisrael.com/state-comp...eron-site/
3) Despite stern frequent warnings to distance and wear masks, the Haredis at Mt Meron, who frequently reject government health directives like the measles vaccinations, crowded shoulder to shoulder in their usual manner.
