Two of the best things to have escaped me back in my 20s, these two comics. There’s value in daily newspapers to bring these things that have been lost to others as well.
Except for all the morons who subjugated C & J (well, Calvin really) for the misappropriation of his image pissing on Fords/Chevys (or whatever) in the rear windows of vehicles. Those people bastardized the product, certainly.
A few years ago when Breathed made a splash on Facebook about posting new comics there I obviously “subscribed” but never read any. Most of the time I saw them on my phone, which won’t zoom in cleanly to allow text discernment.
I know this is all a “me” issue to which I readily assume full responsibility.
The other week with the news of a woman killed by a bear while she was camping immediately took me to Larson’s Far Side, and the one bear telling the other about the gooey center. From tragedy comes comedy, for those who can accept it.
