Too bad that poor judgement, poor character, greed, and very likely dementia have robbed this man of what could have been an admirable legacy.
I just see it as an extension of the self-serving a-hole he was in the immediate aftermath of 9-11. So many times he made it all about him, not those who had been lost or those who lost.
He is supposed to have been behind cleaning up some crime in NYC. At some point I would like to see an an objective analysis of what was actually accomplished during that period and how much he was actually responsible for as opposed to others who did less posturing for the press.
That was Bill Bratton as Commissioner of Police in NYC that did the "crime reduction." When Giuliani became jealous of the attention Bratton was getting, they argued and Bill resigned.
Giuliani takes credit for the resurrection of Times Square but that begun by Disney's Michael Eisner when they decided to restore the New Amsterdam Theater (after successfully restoring the El Capitan Theater on Hollywood Blvd which sparked a massive restoration of that entertainment zone.
"I had a little concern about the adjacent nightlife, and he [Giuliani wrote: looked me in the eye and he said, “It’ll be gone,” and I said, “Mr. Mayor, you know there is the American Civil Liberties Union, and I mean, they’re just not gone.” He said, “Look me in the eye.” And I said, “What?” He said, “Look me in the eye.” I said, “Okay.” He said, “They will be gone.” Scared me. I guess[ed] they were going to be gone. So that was that, and we said yes.

It was Hillary Clinton with the help of President Bush that secured the billions to immediately aid NYC after 9/11.
THIS MF IS RESPONSIBLE FOR NOTHING GOOD.
