Even if you don't "use" CVS, Blue Cross has delegated many functions to CVS and uses CVS for some of their wellness programs (which you can't opt out from) so you'll get calls from CVS nomatter what if you have Blue Cross.
Some of the callers from CVS have lied and said that they were nurses calling from Blue Cross with a follow-up on some care that I received, and they had detailed info on that health care. When I pointed out that the caller ID indicated that they were calling from CVS, they copped to the fact that they weren't calling from Blue Cross and that they weren't actually nurses.
I'm sure that they've found a way to make this appear legit under HIPAA even though I have never provided authorization for CVS to have access to my confidential health information outside of filling prescriptions and have asked to be removed from all marketing programs and all information-sharing with third parties.
I'd join a class action against these practices if anyone would care to start one.
