Missing from the top of the list implies that it has been removed from the list of saved WiFi networks in the System Preferences.

No saved PW in the login or local items Keychains may be due to your having shared the password from another device such as the iPad previously. When you do it that way, it doesn't save the password the same way.

Try this:

Locate the /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration folder and throw the com.apple.airport.preferences file in the Trash.

Then reboot, and hold down the Shift key while it starts up. This is a safe-boot.

When you get to the login screen, it should say "safe boot" in the upper-right corner of the screen. DO NOT LOG IN when safe-booted. Instead, reboot and this time don't hold down the Shift key.

Finally, after logging in again, try reconnecting to your WiFi network.
