There is no singularity.
"AI" is just complex database-juggling.
It goes wrong because of problems with the data or problems with the algorithms parsing the data, not because it's sentient.
The second to last paragraph is the only one that's anywhere close to the truth. They are impersonal systems, closer kin to an ATM machine than to anything we project upon them in the way of personality.
Trust them as far as you'd trust a bunch of random Indian programmers making $2 a day.
